Convenientemente denso, poderoso e ricamente colorido, como tende a ser a Petit Verdot, ele ainda tem o porte e o equilíbrio que são típicos dos vinhos de Renato Czischke. Focado e suave, com taninos presentes, carvalho perfumado e amora silvestre.
Tim Atkin é um dos críticos de vinhos mais reconhecidos do Mundo. Inglês, um dos poucos com o título de Master of Wine, reconhecido e premiado escritor de vinhos, acumula varias dezenas de prêmios internacionais. Contribui com as revistas Decanter, Harpers, The World of Fine Wine, Goumert Traveller Wine e The Drink Business. Vermelho runi intenso. Aromas de frutas vermelhas picantes, algo floral, caramelo ao fundo. Sensação na boca fresca, compacto, um pouco escura e suculenta.

Hartwig plantó petit verdot en 2006 en su campo de Santa Cruz, un lugar cálido en el que esta cepa – que por lo general va en mezclas- parece sentirse a gusto. Aquí hay frutas rojas maduras, exuberantes, en un cuerpo marcado por taninos salvajes. Otro que necesita al menos un par de años en botella.
